Acsa granted 18.5% tariff increase Airports Company South Africa (Acsa) has been granted an 18.5% increase in tariffs for the 2009-10 financial year, far short of the 25% it had requested from the airports regulator this year. Passenger charges will increase from R41 (US$4) to R49 (US$4.88) for domestic travellers, from R85 (US$8.45) to R102 (US$10.15) for regional passengers and from R112 (US$11.14) to R135 (US$13.44) for international flights from 1 May. Passenger airport tariffs are, however, expected to double next year as the regulator is likely to allow Acsa to pass on the cost of a large part of its R17.8 billion (US$1.7 billion) capital expenditure programme to its customers.
