ANA Portugal Airport Charges for 08/09 published
ANA, the operator of Airports in Portugal, have published their 2008/09 charges for Lisbon, Porto and Faro Airports, coming into force on December 1st. Charges have slightly increased for most aircraft types over the 2007/08 charges, but thanks to the introduction of a new charging category for aircraft with MTOWs above 150t, large aircraft see a reduction in runway charges.

Finnish Airport Charges Incentive Scheme
Finavia is to introduce an airport charges incentive scheme to encourage airlines to open new routes to/ from Finnish airports. The new scheme will come into effect on 25th October and will cover all Finavia airports. This marks a change for Finavia, as previously their approach was to state a readiness to offer landing charge discounts, but not to publish any details.

Ryanair charges customers ‘fantasy’ €15 fees
RYANAIR passengers at Cork Airport are being charged more than €15 per head in "taxes and fees" that the airline does not have to pay, the Irish Independent has learned. The airport charges only apply to a route a year after its introduction, but the budget airline is charging customers travelling on the eight–month–old Glasgow and East Midlands routes. Aviation sources said yesterday that Ryanair, which has now axed these two routes, was turning a huge profit by charging consumers for fantasy costs

Ryanair blames Dublin airport charges for reduction in frequency
Ryanair will cut its winter schedule at Dublin, reducing based aircraft to 18 from 22 and the number of weekly flights to 1,190 from 1,352. It estimated a passenger decline of around 500,000 from winter 2007-08. It said DUB is the second most expensive of its base airports and that a written request to the airport to have fees reduced was "dismissed by the DAA monopoly." It said the airport charges up to €15 ($23.84) per departing passenger. DUB suffered from radar problems last week, forcing cancellations

UK Airport Charges on the Increase
Published airport charges at UK airports have increased in 2008, with BAA’s London airports leading the way. Analysis by www.airportcharges.com of charges at 30 UK airports shows that Heathrow and Gatwick had the sharpest rises in airport charges over 2007, but that neither are as yet the most expensive airports for operators.
